Be a Traveler, Not a Tourist !

Dawson City - Circle

08.07.2011

I left around noon, unfortunately the package didn't arrive today either!
In Dawson the weather was still good, but a few kilometers later it started raining again.
I paddled through the whole night...

I passed 40 Mile, at Nation I met Nadine & Alex and also Jörg and his wife. But somehow there were bad vibes in the air, I didn't feel welcome...

Shortly before the Kandik River Cabin the others drove in the pouring rain to the Biederman Cabin which is of course locked because it is PRIVATE, the Kandik River Cabin on the other side is open to everyone, I was pissed off and drove on alone...

Anyone who knows anything about the Yukon River knows that you should respect private cabins, especially if there is a public use cabin on the other side....

I drove until 20 km before Circle.

After 376 kilometers and 33.48 hours without any major breaks, I set up camp on an island, I was exhausted...

Once again big praise for GEOFF Anderson, the rain jacket is really HAMMER. I've already had a lot of good Gore gear, but this jacket beats them all. It's the first jacket that really lets sweat out while paddling and doesn't let rain in!

During the night it got a little better...

In the early morning it finally cleared up!

It came just at the right time, after the many, many hours in the rain I was really cold
