My Armadillo
My bike has finally arrived!
But I can't drive it in the next time because it's in need of a complete overhaul...
Actually, someone wanted to help me to overhaul the Armadillo, albeit for a lot of money…
But as so often, it was just a chatterbox! Unfortunately, I meet such people far too often here in Germany...
The wearing parts - chains, sprockets, etc. - are no longer ok, I have to replace them all.
All drive chains are also heavily corroded and beyond the wear limit !
The Rohloff drivetrain is in urgent need of a complete overhaul.
The Electronic board has to be changed.
Still, a lot of work and a lot of money has to be invested before it can go on the road again...
The last service was probably a long time ago....
But it has a lot of space for my equipment !
I'll mount a large waterproof Zarges box on it to hold all my equipment, save!
The Zarges box has a volume of 480 l and measures 120 cm x 80 cm x 50 cm.

The bike has to be stripped down and rebuilt from the ground up.
The good news:
Dennis & John from Velove sent me some spare parts. This is going to be a huge help in getting the bike back on the road, thank you so much!
Today (04.07.2024) I received a package with spare parts from Velove for my Armadillo, great!

My Armadillo will get a
Schlumpf / Haberstock
Mountain-Drive
With a 2.5 : 1 gear ratio.
This way I hopefully can master steep passages without the engine !
The combination Rohloff, E-Motor and Mountain drive will be perfect!
The Mountain-Drive enables a reduction ratio of 2.5 : 1 and 1 : 1. With the additional reduction stage, higher loads can be transported with significantly less force at a moderate crank frequency. A significantly shorter distance is covered per crank revolution. This transmission ratio is realized by driving the sun gear and driving the planet gear, while the ring gear is firmly coupled to the housing.

Unfortunately,
at the moment, I don't have any time to do any work on my Armadillo bike. The care situation with my mother & brother leaves me hardly any free time for myself...
