The trike is now well packed. Many thanks to Ortwin Ott!

I packed the equipment in 3 bags, together with the trike I have about 100 kg of luggage!
Why so much, quite simple, I need about 30 kg for the packed trike and about 70 kg for my equipment including spare parts and special sports food, which I will send from Whitehorse to Alaska ...
Now I am a little bit overweight. I hope that the people at the airport in Frankfurt will turn a blind eye...

Will the "Caution, fragile" stickers be of any use?

There was more than enough room for me in Comfort Class. Even better, I didn't have to worry about being overweight...

Landed in Whitehorse, it was a wonderful flight with Condor!

Unfortunately, customs in Frankfurt didn't seal my luggage properly again. One of my bags arrived in Whitehorse open. Unfortunately, several parts of the equipment were missing...

As I'm still waiting for my stuff, I took a trip to Silver City on Kluane Lake today.  Two Poles climbing Mt. Logan needed someone to bring the rental car back to Whitehorse.

The ride was great to see what the road conditions are like, because I'll be riding the same way on my trike when I leave for Fairbanks/Alaska.

It was extremely windy today.

This route is likely to be very cold on the trike due to the cold wind from the mountains...

Now in May there is still very little traffic on this route

It has been snowing heavily in the mountains over the last few days!

There are also some steep climbs on the route, which will be fun on the trike...

Lech Flaczynski and his son, who come from Poland, will climb Mt. Logan, the second-highest mountain in North America at 5959 meters.
They have already successfully climbed Mount Denali/McKinley, the highest mountain in North America at 6,194 meters, in recent years!
I know Lech from my 2005 Yukon River Tour.     Good luck to you both!
( They did it and successfully climbed Mt. Logan and unfortunately also found a dead climber ... ! )

Severe flooding along the Yukon River and on other rivers!

Due to the abundant snowfall last winter, extremely severe flooding has now occurred along the rivers in Alaska. Eagle Alaska is almost completely flooded and huge chunks of ice are piling up in the middle of the village. Houses and cars are destroyed.  However, according to initial reports, there were no fatalities, thank goodness! I hope that all my friends on the Yukon River are doing well! The small village of Beaver in the Yukon Flats is currently being evacuated.  Circle and Fort Yukon are also expected to experience extremely heavy flooding!

When I woke up today it was snowing, then in between there was hail and then snow again!
But according to the weather forecast, it should be nice (and dry) again in the next few days ...

My recommendation for an overnight stay in Whitehorse!
